2020

How it started

I needed a hobby. What began as a way to quell my anxiety and cope with depression, pouring candles quickly became something more–a way to share some much needed comfort with others. 

2022

Making it official

Soon, friends and family were filling their own homes with our experimental batches, testing and giving feedback on new scents and ingredients. And, with a little push from some special people, by 2022, LaVela Design Company was established, with roots in Savannah, Georgia.

Named for the craft that started it all, and paying homage to my Puerto Rican and Spanish ancestry, LaVela is a home fragrance and design brand committed to crafting experiences that elevate everyday moments.
